1. Introduction

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the Cedar Speak website, mobile experiences, and related services (collectively, the "Service"). Please read them carefully.

2. Accepting These Terms

By accessing or using the Service, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you may not use the Service.

3. Service Overview

Cedar Speak is a Lebanese-Arabic learning platform that offers AI-assisted translation, dialect-specific sentence explanations, alphabet lessons, curated short stories, and upcoming guided courses. We leverage modern AI models and proprietary content to help learners build confidence across reading, listening, and speaking.

4. Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to access or use the Service. If you are under 16, you are not permitted to use Cedar Speak.

5. Your Account

Certain features require an account. When registering, you agree to provide accurate, complete information and to keep it updated. You are responsible for all activity that occurs under your account and for safeguarding your password. Notify Cedar Speak immediately at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized use. You may only create an account on behalf of another person if you are legally authorized to do so.

6. Fees and Purchase Terms

Cedar Speak may offer limited free usage to prevent abuse. Access to premium translation volumes, lessons, or course materials requires a paid subscription. Prices and plan details are displayed within the Service and on cedarspeak.ca.

By submitting a payment method, you (i) represent that you are authorized to use it and that information you provide is accurate; (ii) authorize Cedar Speak to charge you for the selected plan plus any applicable taxes or fees; and (iii) authorize charges for any paid add-ons you choose within the Service. We may update our pricing or billing policies by posting changes within the Service or on our website.

7. Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. Because the Service includes significant AI and infrastructure costs, we generally do not offer refunds, so please evaluate the Service before subscribing.

8. Your Use of the Service

You agree to use Cedar Speak solely for lawful purposes and in compliance with applicable laws. You will not upload, transmit, or otherwise share content that infringes third-party intellectual property rights, violates privacy rights, or is harmful, deceptive, or abusive.

Specific Prohibited Uses: You explicitly agree not to: (a) use any robot, spider, scraper, or other automated means to access the Service for any purpose without our express written permission; (b) reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code or underlying AI models/prompts of the Service; (c) use the Service's output to train, fine-tune, or improve other artificial intelligence or machine learning models; (d) overload, flood, or spam the Service's infrastructure; or (e) share your account credentials with others to bypass usage limits.

We reserve the right to immediately suspend or terminate your access to the Service if we determine, in our sole discretion, that you have violated these Terms or are abusing the Service's resources.

9. Privacy

We collect only the information necessary to operate Cedar Speak, such as account details, subscription status, and learning progress. Text submitted for translation or explanation is processed to generate responses and may be cached briefly for quality assurance, but we do not permanently store translation inputs. 10. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS. TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CEDAR SPEAK DISCLAIMS ALL WARRANTIES, WHETHER EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

11. Limitation of Liability

CEDAR SPEAK WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS OR REVENUE, WHETHER INCURRED DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY, OR ANY LOSS OF DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES RESULTING FROM (A) YOUR USE OR INABILITY TO USE THE SERVICE; OR (B) ANY CONTENT OBTAINED FROM THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE GREATER OF (I) THE FEES YOU PAID TO CEDAR SPEAK IN THE PREVIOUS 12 MONTHS OR (II) $100, TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may modify these Terms from time to time. The "Last updated" date will reflect the latest revision. Continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
